The New - news!  

- What is the YarnArts family website crew working on now?

A Website Pattern Detail Page: We're working on creating a new page which will

• list sections of patterns that customers have questioned.
• or that we want to give a clearer more detailed explanation of.
• or we have created easier alternative directions.
• or corrected a reprinting error if found.                 

We're using customer feedback to tell us what extra instructions & photos to put here.  We're currently working up this page for the more complicated portions of some of our patterns.  As we get more feedback through our "Contact Us" buttons, our customers will help determine what we put on this page.   

• We plan to leave the extra instructions or photos on this page permanently. 
• You can print them and add them to either the new color reprints or the old black & white patterns purchased from Kathleen since the 1980's, when she didn't have the ability to add photos of the pattern details.   

The original publishing company, hired pattern testers and then typed Kathleen's patterns for publishing in black & white during the 80's.  The publisher then had proof readers check for typing errors and published in small quanities. 

Our current YarnArts patterns are reprints of these black & white patterns with YarnArts proof readers but YarnArts has not retested the original published patterns.  We've already had one of our new customers point out a typing error that wasn't picked up by the proof readers of the original black & white patterns and we repeated in the color reprint pattern.  Although we immediately corrected it in our pattern, this website page will also give us a place to get that correction out to former customers too.  

We're trying to make Kathleen's patterns and our website as user friendly as possible.  We're a small "mom & pop" family operation and are learning as we go.  Sometimes that means we go slow.  This is a new website operation & we're peddeling just as fast as we can.  Thank you for your patience & constructive feedback. 

Pattern suggestions & requests:

• We keep a list of pattern suggestion for when Kathleen begins designing again. 
• Kathleen has already created a large number (over 100) patterns, most of which haven't been published, even in black & white.   
• When these match up with any of our customer pattern suggestions or requests, YarnArts plans to move these existing patterns to the top of our publishing list. 
• We're currently trying to publish a couple patterns from each catagorie linked on our website. 
• Unless customers suggestions match up with some of our unpublished patterns or a customer's suggestion stimulates one of Kathleen's designing binges, we have already selected the top of each catagorie publishing list. 
• Customer feedback is your chance to change those publishing priority lists and get patterns you'd like to see sooner.

 The Old News

We would like to point out -  

• our patterns are hole punched for storage in any full size loose leaf binder. 
• We do not print on the reverse side of our pattern pages, so you won't have to remove them from your binders when using a magnetic board or page guide to keep your place in the pattern.  One side printing takes more pages and costs more for postage but we find it frustrating when we have to remove the guide and flip the page to compare a diagram to the written directions.  With one side printing, you can lay the written direction page next to the diagram page while working the pattern and then replace it in your binder. 
• Our patterns are numbered by catagorie to help you organize them numerically in your binders & we plan to provide an updated "content page" on our site, which you can print and add to the front of your binder.     
• Fred is working on a group shot representative of our patterns, with the YarnArts Gallery logo, which can be used as a cover insert on binders which accept these cover inserts.

- What Patterns are the YarnArts family working on ? 

- Fred is completing the graphics for patterns which will be displayed on our (not yet published) DOLL GEAR & CLOTHING pages.  We've completed our Nicole on a Swing pattern & hope to get her on the website soon.
